Kenny Butterill's "No One You Know" CD Warmly Received in Europe

Americana Songwriter Kenny Butterill's Debut CD "No One You Know" has been well received in Europe since its release there in late December 1999, where it got to #21 in the European Country Music charts and landed in other top Euro-wide Indie charts while gaining airplay on over 50 radio stations in 11 European countries.

Raised in Canada, Butterill's sound is a simple, soothing, melodic blend of acoustic rock and country folk blues conjuring up lots of easily identifiable imagery and feelings. His main influences include JJ Cale, Gordon Lightfoot, John Prine and Townes Van Zant.

In this era of overproduced, formula based music, the "No One You Know" album is truly unique - with every song using the so-called "scratch vocals". Butterill explained that "we couldn't seem to capture the intimate feel we wanted when we tried to do the final vocals after everything else was laid down. So we went with the scratch vocals to ensure that elusive 'feeling' was on the record".

Not surprisingly to those that have heard it, Butterill's music debuted at #1 Country, #2 Folk and #7 College in the inaugural ratings charts on one of the world's leading internet sources for new artists, www.IUMA.com. One reviewer of Butterill's new CD may have said it best - "this is an authentic Country/Americana record that grows on you - and keeps sounding better the more one listens. If you like early Dire Straits, Gordon Lightfoot, Tony Joe White, or JJ Cale, you'll like the Butterill sound".

Fans old and new will be hearing more of Kenny Butterill in the coming months as the "No One You Know" CD is released in North America and Australia - and then he heads back into the studio to work on the next project!
